Chamber News: Registration opens for Hill College’s 2023 Kids College
Enrollment for Kids College, a summer enrichment camp for students entering the first through eighth grades, is open. Camps will be held on both the Hill County and Johnson County campuses. Johnson County Campus will hold camp June 5 through June 8; the Hill County Campus will hold camp June 26 through June 29.
Students have a wide variety of classes to choose from that fall under the college’s four career pathways, Arts & Humanities, Business & Industry, Health & Public Service, and STEM. Tuition is $100 for each camp. Lunch is included. Camps are held from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Class offerings include, but are not limited to:
Arts & Humanities
(1st–8th grades) Art of Art, Kids Choir, Reading Enrichment, Spanish for Kids, Writing with Creativity
Business & Industry
(1st–8th grades) Cut, Glue, Fab; Rodeo Roundup; Tooling Around; Power it Up
(5th–8th grades) Under the Hood
Health & Public Service
(1st–8th grades) Experiencing Emergency Medical Services, Future Nurses, Mini Fire Academy
(4th–8th grades) Criminal Law for Beginners
(6th–8th grades) Cosmetology in Action
STEM
(1st–8th grades) Baseball Basics, Basketball Bombers, Fun with Cells, Ideas to Life with 3D Printers, Math Blast, Physics for Kids, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, Think Like a Scientist, Wildlife Adventure Science
Kids College is a great opportunity for young students to begin exploring their future academic and professional careers.
The registration deadline for the Johnson County Campus is May 18, 2023; registration deadline for the Hill County Campus is June 8, 2023.
