Each February, the Burleson Chamber hosts an Annual Awards Luncheon. Three Chamber Member businesses are named as the Chamber’s STAR Small Businesses of the Year, and Chamber and community leaders will be honored for their volunteerism and service with the Chamber’s Legacy Awards.
Craig Couch, Principle of Couch and Russell Financial Group will present “The Leader They Need.”The Annual Awards Luncheon will be held Thursday, February 16 at Pathway Church. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin promptly at noon. Tickets for the event are available on our Event Calendar.
Nomination Ballots are no longer available for the 2017 Awards Luncheon.
STAR Small Business of the Year Awards
In keeping with our mission to promote local business, the Burleson Chamber is proud to recognize members who represent innovation, entrepreneurship and best business practices through the BACC STAR Small Business of the Year awards.
There are three STAR Award categories:
- Rising STAR: Start-up company (in business less than 3 years; buy-out of existing company excluded)
- Shooting STAR: 1-10 Employees (in business three or more years)
- Shining STAR: 11-50 Employees (in business three or more years)
Winners of the BACC STAR Small Business of the Year Awards are selected for best business practices as selected by an independent panel of judges.
Chamber Legacy Awards
The ATHENA Leadership Award is presented to a woman in our community who demonstrates excellence, creativity, and initiative in her business or profession. Provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community. Actively assists women in realizing their full leadership potential.
Wellness Champion Award: *New* This award is presented to an individual or business, in good standing with the Chamber, that significantly impacts the health and wellness of their employees and/or the residents of Johnson County by their efforts and initiatives.
Marzie Bartee Chamber Volunteer of the Year Award: Marzie Bartee is a woman who has been a vital part of the Burleson community by participating, volunteering, and working quietly behind the scenes whenever she saw a need. The Marzie Bartee Volunteer of the Year Award is presented each year to a Burleson Chamber member who contributes and participates in Chamber and community events. This is someone who acts as an “unsung hero” by contributing their time and energy in the spirit of Marzie Bartee.
Citizen of the Year Award: The Citizen of the Year award recognizes a citizen of Burleson who has contributed to the community in an outstanding way personally, through the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce or another service organization over the past year. While the previous year is the most relevant to this award, contributions made during previous years may also be considered.
Civic Organization/Non-Profit of the Year: The recipient of this award is a civic organization or non-profit that provides a valuable service by devoting time and energy to improving the quality of life for those in the Burleson area. This may be an organization that provides financial, emotional, and/or spiritual support to the citizens of our community.
