The Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce and City of Burleson are partnering to bring the Burleson community a Manufacturing and Industrial Alliance program. The Alliance will hold quarterly meetings to present programs specifically related to the needs and issues of the manufacturing and industrial sector. The number one topic of interest and priority is talent acquisition. Our first meeting, this Thursday, February 23rd, will feature Larry Bills, the Director of Career & Technical Education at Burleson ISD, who will present “Career and Technical Workforce”. The goal of this meeting and subsequent meetings will be to build a strong base of talent for these companies.
The Manufacturing and Industrial Alliance will also provide a forum for a collective voice for manufacturing and industrial businesses in the Burleson area, inform elected officials, city administrators, county officials and policy influencers about the vital impact manufacturing and industrial companies have in our region, and to be a respected and focused partner in achieving an economic environment to encourage manufacturing in Burleson and to strengthen the group’s leadership in the community. Other program topics for 2017 include Texas Workforce Commission, Environmental Compliance, Site Selectors, Financial Education and Engineering.
