Now in its 18th Year, the Burleson Honey Tour Bicycle Ride will take place on Saturday, May 28th. For 17 years, the Honey Tour has been delighting bicycling enthusiasts from across Texas with its 67, 46, 30 and 7 Mile Routes. The three longer routes feature rest stops roughly every ten miles; the 7 Mile Route has its own mid-point rest stop to serve beginners or families with younger riders. A New 22 Mile Route has been added to the 2016 event for those riders not quite ready for the longer distances.
Organized by the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce, a portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to Burleson Boy Scouts Troop #11. “Every year, the Boy Scouts and their parents are some of our best volunteers,” says Chamber President Sherri Sechrist. “We’re pleased to formally partner with the Boy Scouts who contribute so much to the Honey Tour.”
Here’s what participants from previous years say about the Burleson Honey Tour Bicycle Ride.
“Wow! What a great ride.” “I’ll definitely be riding this one next year! Well done, Burleson!” “One of the most scenic rides in North Texas, with long views to the horizon across pasture and farmland and never long depressing views of the road.” “Be sure to keep this one on your calendar for next year.“
