Chamber members and community leaders will hear a “CEO Forecast” for Burleson and North Texas at the Burleson Chamber’s upcoming Fall Quarterly Meeting. The Quarterly will take place on Thursday, October 15th at Pathway Church and is sponsored by Star Bank of Texas.
The Fall Quarterly Meeting will offer a unique format with several community leaders slated to participate. Justin Bond, Director of Development for the City of Burleson will present an update on economic development news for our city. Bond will address the three segments of Burleson Economic Development: a recap of recent business additions to our city; an update on companies considering a move to Burleson; and a summary of recent successes in Burleson’s ability to retain significant companies already located in our community.
Following Bond’s address, he will moderate a conversation about the current and future business climate in Burleson and North Texas with the CEOs of two prominent local companies.
Bruce Basden is the CEO of Basden Steel. Established in 1985 to provide structural steel for the construction industry, Basden Steel utilizes their Texas and Oklahoma based plants and some of the most advanced equipment in the industry to provide turnkey structural steel services for Texas, Oklahoma and surrounding states. Their projects include school, data center, office and industrial truss heavy projects. Basden Steel is also the developer of several Burleson projects such as the medical center at the corner of Renfro and SW Johnson Avenue and the proposed adjacent 90,000 square foot building which will house Burleson’s Center of Higher Education along with commercial or office space tenants.
Bill Mecke is the CEO of KWS Manufacturing, a manufacturer of screw conveyors, screw feeders, bucket elevators and bulk material handling systems. A leader in the design and manufacture of conveying equipment for the bulk material handling industry, KWS Manufacturing products are marketed globally to many diverse industries and to a large customer base of end users, power transmission distributors, engineering firms, system suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Over 125 employees work in the 125,000 SF KWS Manufacturing facility in Burleson. KWS Manufacturing has experienced greater than 500-percent growth in revenue over the last ten years and has become one of the largest conveyor manufacturers in North America.

Each quarter, the Chamber hosts a Membership Meeting that educates its members and provides the opportunity for meeting new members and businesses. The 2015 Fall Quarterly takes place at Pathway Church at 325 NW Renfro St. in Burleson (formerly St. Matthew). Doors open at 11:00 AM, lunch is served at 11:30 and the meeting concludes at 1:00.
