The Chamber will host its Annual Award Luncheon on Thursday, February 19th at First United Methodist Church. Three businesses will be named as the Chamber’s STAR Small Business of the Year winners, and Chamber and community leaders will be honored for their volunteerism and service with the Chamber’s Legacy awards.
Attendees will be entertained and enlightened by our Keynote Presentation “Three Everyday Steps for an Extraordinary Life,” with Craig Couch of Couch & Russell Financial Group serving as our speaker. Craig is an accomplished and humorous presenter who also serves as a director for the non-profit, Pathways Core Training and as the newly-elected Vice-Chair Elect of the Chamber’s 2015 Board of Directors.
In its third year, the STAR Small Business of the Year recipients come from unique business areas, but share a common trait: a commitment to entrepreneurial, marketing and management excellence. The three categories are Rising Star (in Business 3 Years of Less); Shooting Star (1 – 10 Employees); and Shining Star (11 – 50 Employees).
The Chamber’s legacy awards include the ATHENA Leadership Award, the Non-Profit of the Year, Chamber Volunteer of the Year and Citizen of the Year, along with the top contributors to the Chamber’s Ambassador and Diplomat service organizations.
Title Sponsor for the event is Couch & Russell Financial Group. The three Star Award Sponsors are Citizens National Bank of Texas, H-E-B and Justice IT Consulting.
“Our Awards Luncheon embraces several distinct principles,” said Sherri Sechrist, president of the Burleson Chamber. “First, members will enjoy hearing Craig’s presentation on creating an extraordinary life. It’s exciting to recognize our members who exemplify the best of small business practices in our community. And finally, it’s always with gratitude that we honor members of the chamber who continually demonstrate commitment and service to our organization and the community at large.”
