Two hundred Chamber members and guests turned out to hear local elected officials and leaders honor State Representative Rob Orr at the Chamber’s Fall Quarterly Meeting on October 16th. Orr will soon complete his fifth and final term as the District 58 State Representative, after choosing to not seek reelection earlier this year. The meeting was held at NorthPoint Baptist Church and Old Texas Brewing Company catered the luncheon. Audience members enjoyed laughter and entertaining stories as they heard from Senator Brian Birdwell, Johnson County Judge Roger Harmon, Sheriff Bob Alford, Mayor Ken Shetter, along with personal anecdotes from friends and family members.
In his ten years of service, Orr chaired and served on many committees and was warded many honors. He was instrumental in the efforts to finally open the Chisholm Trail Parkway toll road, a huge asset to Burleson and Johnson County. But Orr’s most cited legacy was his integrity, work ethic and his true commitment to always do what he felt was best for his constituents.
Orr will step down from office in January 2015 and return fulltime to his Burleson-based real estate business, Orr & Associates. We extend our thanks and congratulations to Rob for a job well-done!
